I’m overseeing the construction of a £5.5m three-storey health and fitness centre at Bridgwater College, which is nearing completion.

It’s in the middle of a busy college campus and has posed numerous challenges in ensuring the safety of all those working on site as well as the students and teachers moving around the college. It was also a trip down memory lane for me as this is the college that I attended in the mid-1970s!

But one of our biggest considerations was managing the logistics of bringing materials to the site, and ensuring deliveries were planned to coincide with the college’s quiet times, when both people and vehicle traffic were at a minimum.
