Beaufort Court, this Peabody Trust development on the site of a former school in Fulham, west London, won the “best example of affordable housing” at this year’s Housing Design awards.
The Housing Corporation-sponsored award was presented to Peabody at a ceremony last night in London.
Despite its high density of 123 dwellings per hectare, the scheme manages to include generous gardens for 14 two-storey family houses plus six-storey blocks of flats and maisonettes and a further three-storey block incorporating meeting rooms and follow-on accommodation for ex-rough sleepers.
