A 拢100m-plus regeneration programme in north-east Liverpool is offering residents jobs and training opportunities.
The Alt Valley Construction Consortium comprises 11 partners: housing associations, contractors and training companies.

It was launched last Friday with the aim of helping people in and around the Alt Valley into work.

It will employ them on a range of projects over the next seven to 10 years, such as refurbishment and building homes.

Contractors will identify what staff are needed where and the Neighbourhood Services Company will ensure they have the right skills.

A spokeswoman for Cobalt Housing, one of the 11 partners, said: 鈥淥ver the next seven years, Cobalt will be spending 拢100m on its investment programme alone.

鈥淚f it is to have a real impact, it should not only improve homes but also local people鈥檚 prospects for employment and training.鈥
