Some of England鈥檚 biggest housing associations are looking for a Dutch peer to join their knowledge-sharing group.
The William Sutton Housing Alliance is made up of the William Sutton Trust, Ujima Housing Association, Brighton Housing Trust and Midsummer Housing Association.

Representatives will visit the Netherlands in June to find a Dutch association to join the group and will choose one by July.

They hope it will bring extra financial and management knowledge to the group.

Mike Morris, chief executive of the William Sutton Trust, said the group was particularly interested in two associations, but declined to name them. However, it will also visit others.

UK associations often look to the Netherlands for innovations. Bath-based Somer Housing Group has hosted a visit from Dutch housing professionals.

Morris explained: 鈥淭he Dutch operate quite tight financial regimes and there鈥檚 not much capital subsidy to housing associations. Also, their stock is integrated into the wider market.鈥
