JVC surveillance cameras prove their reliability across more than 160 casinos and bingo premises operated by the Rank Group

CCTV specialist JVC has enjoyed an eight-year working relationship with the Rank Group’s Gaming Division. During that time, both JVC dome and static cameras have been installed at over 160 casinos and bingo rooms, primarily by installers ID Vision and OCS. Rank’s Gaming Division owns the Mecca Bingo, Grosvenor Casinos and Hard Rock Casino brands, employing no less than 11,000 staff.

John Butler, director of security at the Rank Group Gaming Division, is responsible for all aspects of security throughout the division. This encompasses physical security of the premises, including design detail and technical security ranging from CCTV and alarms through to the management of on-site security officers, the investigation of crime and breaches of the Gaming Act, crisis management, anti-money laundering measures and general crime prevention.

Butler told SMT: “The JVC cameras have enjoyed a remarkable history of longevity. Some of the installed cameras have been functioning without any problems for up to a decade. They’re robust, work well in low light levels and produce really clear images. Until we made the recent move to digital we’ve always used JVC recorders in unison.â€

In order that Butler can protect the Rank Group’s assets, CCTV images must be captured in absolute precision and detail. JVC’s systems have achieved just that in one of the most critical and demanding of surveillance environments.
