Twelve electrical and plumbing apprentices have been honoured at a prestigious ceremony held at the House of Lords for the JTL National Awards. The winners represent the ten regions of the JIB for the electrical contracting industry in England and Wales and are regarded as some of the best apprentices in the country.
Cambridge electrician Richard Scott was hailed the country’s top electrical apprentice, picking up the Frank Chapple Cup and £2250. Scott, who was trained by Sotham Engineering Services, also won the Eastern Region Award 2003.
Plumbing apprentice Andrew Travis of Rotary Yorkshire won the Michael Buckle outstanding achievement in plumbing and mechanical services award. The Roy Howard Shield for commitment to health and safety went to T Clarke apprentice David Richards.
