QS News editor Phil Clark was named ‘News Reporter of the Year’ at an industry awards ceremony last week.
Clark won the International ǿմý Press prize at an event held at the Four Seasons Hotel in central London last Thursday. The award was given for stories he had written on the competition for the construction management contract for the redevelopment of Broadcasting House by the BBC and on the botched attempt to build a £1bn PFI hospital in Paddington, West London.
The award judges said they were particularly impressed by his use of the Freedom of Information Act “on which Clark jumped in and showed the way”. “He has an ability to create a fascinating insight into relationships between client and builder,” the judges concluded. Four other journalists from ǿմý, QS News’ sister title, also won prizes at the event.
