Bosch Security Systems has added the Ðǿմ«Ã½ Integration System (BIS) to its range of building management system solutions designed for corporate security and building managers

Integrated security

CONTROLLING AND MONITORING TECHNICAL equipment in office buildings, exhibition halls, prisons, airport terminals or hospitals often necessitates the use of systems from many different companies.

To integrate these disparate systems and provide improved control, Bosch Security Systems has extended its range of building management systems with the addition of the Ðǿմ«Ã½ Integration System (BIS).

The building integration software features a modular structure, and can monitor emergency alarm systems and access control installations as well as security and CCTV surveillance systems, heating and air conditioning – all thanks to the addition of a common, user-friendly Windows graphical interface. Thanks to the standards used (in this case OPC, Internet technology and AutoCAD graphics format), it’s easy to link BIS with existing building automation systems.

For example, BIS can monitor security and fire systems 24 hours per day, reporting any defects to a monitoring centre. The system can also use existing floor plans which have already been generated by the architect, or have been used for the layout of the facilities management system.

Importantly, Bosch Security Systems’ BIS may also be integrated into an existing computer network. Operators are able to customise the user interface, as well as alarm documents with standard web editors, and design them specifically for various end user groups and/or alarm situations. The open interface standard OPC guarantees easy links to subsystems from other manufacturers.
