Swiss role for the Welsh
(Security specialists in South Wales form a new association…)
"SWISS (South Wales Independent Security Specialists Association) is a new association formed by local security companies, in conjunction with the NSCIA, throughout South and West Wales who have 'A common interest in improving the standard of security and service in the industry'.
"SWISS was formed because its founder members – five security com-panies – jointly became concerned at poor standards of service in the indus-try and what it describes as the 'unacceptable incidence of false alarms'.
"One of the prime objectives of the association is to promote greater awareness of 'The pitfalls which face the general public and, indeed, the many commercial users who, incredibly, show no more regard for their own long-term interest than does Mr Average'.
"Association members are stringently vetted by the National Supervisory Council for Intruder Alarms (NSCIA), which itself comes under the auspices of the Loss Prevention Council. Training initiatives are also being taken to ensure that engineering standards are always being improved upon, and SWISS says conforming to relevant British Standards is only a minimal pre-requisite for any conscientious company."
