MITIE has acquired the entire issued share capital of Initial Security Limited - the manned guarding business of Rentokil Initial plc.

The acquisition means MITIE Security will become the second largest manned guarding business in the UK, employing over 9,000 officers.

Assa Abloy has acquired California based Adams Rite Manufacturing co, which designs and manufactures mechanical and electrical security products.

In the UK Adams Rite is a distributor of mechanical and electrical security products for commercial aluminium doors.

lPetards has acquired European Innovations Manufacturing centre Ltd, or EIMC, the supplier of infrared and daylight camera technologies for video and ANPR systems.

Petards says it will build on EIMC's existing worldwide ANPR business, and the deal will enable it to further develop its ProVida range of digital video and speed enforcement systems.
