Planning consent was last week upheld on this development, Hopton Street, next to the Tate Modern art gallery in London’s Bankside district.
The Court of Appeal rejected claims by local people that the building would infringe their human rights and dismissed an application to the House of Lords.
The 20-storey, mixed-use development will incorporate 28 homes, nine of which will be for low-cost home ownership or social renting.
The development has been commissioned by property developer London House and designed by architects Kevin Dash and Philip Gumuchdjian.
