Having studied the photographs, it was apparent that the installation team shown was wearing what they considered the latest fashion accessory - the safety harness. One can only call these fashion accessories as they were not attached to any part of the structure or a safety line and, had anyone slipped down the roof, one assumes the rest of the team would form a human chain to stop him plunging to his death.
Ours is an industry where we have already had 14 deaths since April this year, and these pictures only serve to reinforce the fact that we still have a long way to go to make our sites better and safer. I for one, would like to die in bed, not on a dirty, dusty building site in the middle of nowhere.
