The Dutch government has told the EU that it will not be implementing the Energy Performance of Ðǿմ«Ã½s Directive in the short term because of its high cost to tax payers.

It has been reported that implementing the directive would cost the Dutch about £55m a year, around £40m of which would be paid by business with the remainder from households.

  • The UK government has confirmed that it will make an announcement on Article 7, a key part of the Energy Performance of Ðǿմ«Ã½s Directive before Christmas. Article 7 relates to the energy certification of buildings.
