RICS campaigner to depart firm after recent heart surgery

Jermey Hackett, the campaigner calling for reform of the RICS, is to leave QS and dispute resolution firm Scofield Lothian. A statement from the firm issued today said he would be leaving the consulting arm of Schofield Lothian this month.

The statement added: "On full recovery Jeremy hopes to continue on a part-time basis in private practice on his own account, and will continue his work as a directly elected member of the RICS International Governing Council.â€

Hackett started the Stop the Rot campaign in 2003 which fought against the RICS' plan to increase the fees for members of the institution. He has since called for a restructuring of the RICS to better serve QS members.
