Green and interesting: This development is among those made possible by the £250,000 saved by registered social landlord Silbury Group in a refinancing deal.

The 17 homes will not use fossil fuel and will emulate the ecological standards of Peabody's BedZED development.

Silbury has taken out an extra £30m loan with Bank of Scotland, Barclays and Abbey. This takes its borrowing with the banks up to £135m. The new loan has a lower interest rate and less restrictive conditions.
