Kicking at Lend Lease's heels in both lists is HBG Construction. It won seven contracts in December valued at £126.1m, the largest being a £25m office building in Strathclyde.
The project's quantity surveyor, Gardiner & Theobald, overtook rival Davis Langdon & Everest to take top spot in the QS league. G&T was thereby crowned 2003's most successful QS, winning 52 contracts valued at nearly £1.5bn. DLE won 22 more contracts than G&T, but their combined value was still not quite enough at £1.4bn.
