Hard on Bovis' heels in monthly and annual leagues is HBG, and Gardiner & Theobald tops QS chart
There's no stopping the boys and girls at Bovis Lend Lease. The contractor maintained its primacy in the overall 2003 league with a scintillating performance in December's monthly table. It secured a double first with a 拢600m mixed-use central London contract for developer Parkview.

Kicking at Lend Lease's heels in both lists is HBG Construction. It won seven contracts in December valued at 拢126.1m, the largest being a 拢25m office building in Strathclyde.

The project's quantity surveyor, Gardiner & Theobald, overtook rival Davis Langdon & Everest to take top spot in the QS league. G&T was thereby crowned 2003's most successful QS, winning 52 contracts valued at nearly 拢1.5bn. DLE won 22 more contracts than G&T, but their combined value was still not quite enough at 拢1.4bn.

Project must: be of precisely calculated or confirmed value; have reached the main contract stage; be valued at 拢1m or more; be in the UK. Residential, civils or overseas contracts are excluded. Student accommodation is included.
