The end of Ultraframe vs. Burnden is in sight, and when it comes, it will be a bad day only for the legal profession in the North West. The effect of six years of litigation can be compared to trench warfare – the minor points scored along the way have stacked up the costs to each company’s detriment.
For the first few years a lot was at stake, but more recently the action seems to have distracted both from new threats – like Synseal.
It will be interesting to watch the progress of both companies now. Can they claw back their respective number one and two positions by innovation?
We might not thank the extrusion companies for reducing the profit in conservatory roofs but they have accelerated this sector by several years.
