BEG UK

BEG is a leading German manufacturer and distributor of PIR motion detectors. It will be exhibiting its complete range of occupancy detectors.

The products have been approved by The Carbon Trust and meet the requirements for the Energy Technology list, which allows some of the costs of installation to be claimed back from the Government.

New products on show will be the wall-mounted detector that fits into a 16 mm back box, and Duo and corridor products.

Brother

Brother’s handheld and desktop label printers will be on show at the Electrical Roadshow.

The computer-connectable P-Touch 2480 and 9600 labellers provide durable, laminated labels in widths of 6-36 mm. Designed for use on site, the PT-2480 prints text vertically, making it easy to read after wrapping around the cable.

The pc-compatible PT-9600 has 18 print styles and can print on up to 16 lines and at a maximum type size of 27 mm when using 36 mm tape.

Fluke (UK)

Fluke (UK) will be exhibiting a wide range of test instruments from the Fluke and Robin ranges. Featured on the stand will be the Fluke 1651, 1652 and 1653 Multi-function installation testers. Alongside the latest Fluke DMMs will be Fluke T100 Series compact two-pole testers, ideal for rapid on-site measurements of ac/dc voltage, continuity and resistance, and featuring a patented three-phase rotation detection system.

Robin products include 16th Edition Electrician’s test kits that contain a triple voltage insulation/continuity tester, loop psc tester, an rcd tester, a current clamp and Fluke T100.

Katko

Katko is a Finnish manufacturer of load break switches and switch fuses from 16-800 A in three, four, six or eight-pole and changeover versions. They can be open for clients to mount in their own enclosures or enclosed in polycarbonate, abs, steel, aluminium or stainless steel.

It has recently developed a range of polycarbonate and abs-enclosed switches interlocked to prevent the cover being removed when the switch is on and padlocked off. They are designed for fast and simple installation. With the cover and switch removed, cabling is simple. Any retrofit auxiliary contacts can be snapped on top without disturbing the wiring.

Kew Technik

The DIT 400 from Kew Technik’s Socket & See Division is the first product to be launched in its new series of installation testers.

The digital insulation/ continuity tester is fully compliant with BS EN 61557. It is provided with test voltages of 250, 500 and 1000 V and has been built with a Super Fast System measuring technique that provides readings in under one second. Over 4000 tests can be achieved at 500 V using four AA batteries.

Kewtech Corporation

Kewtech’s range includes 16th Edition PAT, clamps, multimeters and a wide range of accessories including test leads, labels and certification books.

It is a developer of anti-trip technology (ATT), allowing loop impedance testing without tripping of rcds. It will be launching a range of new ATT 16th Edition instruments at the Electrical Roadshow along with its FC1000 Calibration Checker. This allows contractors to self-test their instruments on a more regular basis than the standard 12-month calibration period.

How to get there

Road:
From London take the A3 and follow the signs to Sandown Park. From the M25 turn off at Junction 10 and follow the A3 towards London for two miles to the junction with the A307, where the course is well signposted. The main entrance is from The Portsmouth Road, at the bottom of Esher High Street.

Rail:
Esher railway station is adjacent to the back entrance of the racecourse. Turn left out of the station on to Station Road and turn right when reaching the T-junction to join Portsmouth Road. The entrance to Sandown Park is then about a ten minute walk on the right hand side. Trains run frequently from London Waterloo station.
