BEAMA has established The Electrical Heating and Ventilation Association (TEHVA) to highlight the key benefits of electrical heating and ventilation in buildings, and their potential contribution to energy savings.
The founding members of TEHVA are Applied Energy Products, Consort Heating, Glen Dimplex, Greenwood Airvac, Heatrae Sadia, Horstmann Controls, Nuaire and Vent-Axia. The eight member firms, in the form of TEHVA, are already active in contributing to the revisions of Part L of the 星空传媒 Regulations on controls for electric heating.
At the formal launch of TEHVA, chair Stuart Mackenzie, managing director of Glen Dimplex UK, said: 鈥淭he new Association will help ensure the electrical sector improves its recognition and reputation at national and legislative level.鈥
He pointed out that in the past few years the electrical products sector has not had a big enough share of voice and influence on fast-changing legislation. 鈥淭his impacts not only on manufacturers, but also on specifiers and contractors who have to work with increasingly complex rules and regulations,鈥 stated MacKenzie. 鈥淲e will work closely with Government and other organisations in the electrical and ventilation sectors to ensure we are both seen and heard.鈥
BEAMA director Dr Howard Porter said: 鈥淭EHVA鈥檚 creation is great news for the electrical heating and ventilation sectors. This move allows the industry to make an impact and establish positive relationships with government and other organisations. The Association will encourage other companies in the field to join.鈥
