The panel has been formed to monitor the reforms to the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS). The ECA sees its involvement as crucial. Its main focus will be to ensure that changes are made to keep both initial and running costs to a minimum and that a smooth transition for member companies be incorporated.
The group will now meet monthly until the next phase of consultation is completed in October 2003. Ken Tracey of the ECA's commercial contracts & legal (CC&L) department will represent the Association on CIRAP as it works to replace the costly paper-based scheme with an alternative electronic one.
The CC&L department is looking for a small group of members who are willing to comment on particular issues on a monthly basis until October (communication will be via e-mail). Please contact ken.tracey@eca.co.uk.
