Dedicated Micros, the CCTV equipment manufacturer, has been presented with the Queen's Award for Enterprise for its outstanding export performance.
The Award was presented to Mike Newton, founder of Dedicated Micros and chief executive of AD Holdings, by Lord Lieutenant for Greater Manchester, Col Sir John Timmins.

In a ceremony attended by the Deputy Mayor and Mayoress of Salford, Sir David Willmott, now retired chief constable of Greater Manchester Police, and all DM board members, shareholders and staff, the Lord Lieutenant said: "What all winners have in common is a belief in their services, products and technology and the willingness to put them to the test.

Nigel Petrie, group chairman at Dedicated Micros said: "70% of total turnover comes from overseas sales which is testament to our staff's commitment, market knowledge, technical innovation and multi-lingual capability.

"We have always focused on a simple but effective sales proposition – ease of use, high performance and real value for money – a formula which works just as well overseas as in the UK."
