Approved Quantal fabricator Aura Conservatories used the strength and versatility of the Quantal roofing system to manufacture this stunning structure, which was installed by Okehampton Glass.

A conservatory on an old cottage in an exposed position on Dartmoor would present a tricky undertaking for most installers. Add to that a request for a covering over a staggered patio adjoining the conservatory and the installation becomes a real challenge.

Chris Yates of Aura explained: ‘The three Edwardian roofs are staggered side by side, joined together with fully welded Quantal aluminium box gutters. Each gutter was not only raised in places but also welded back to back in parts with 90° internal and external corners.

‘Because of the age and construction of the cottage, the walls were up to 150mm out of alignment in places, which added to the complexity.’

The whole installation is in rosewood and the roofs over the patio area are supported on polyester powder coated steel box sections.
