Dates for European dates have been announced for Gardiner Security and Tavcom Training's series of one day courses on the new European alarm system regulations.
The dates and locations are Leeds (April 26), Birmingham (May 16), Edinburgh (June 13), Bristol (September 12), Cambridge (October 10), and Manchester (November 15).
The BTEC accredited courses cover everything from methods of installation to risk assessment, and include practical help, assistance and all the guidance necessary to satisfy the directives of EN50131.
Numbers are limited to 20 delegates per course. Any interested installers, specifiers or consultants should contact Gemma Prowse on 01706 343343 or email gprowse@gardinersecurity.co.uk.
• A new qualification scheme developed by the Fibreoptic Industry Authority addresses three inter-related areas in learner development, training courses and training provision. The qualification includes a Level I award, but concentrates on four higher level awards - Level II: Technician, Level III: Specialist, Level IV: Engineer, and Level V: Expert.
Learners can progress to higher levels of award through a combination of successful assessment on FIA Approved Course Units and, in the case of the highest levels, submission of a thesis and subsequent oral examination.
