In recent times, the Casablanca and Riyadh bombings and threat of airport terrorist attacks in Kenya has led to heightened security awareness around airports and major cities. In response, International SOS is offering security managers some useful tips on how to react, and those places that staff should avoid.
"If you suspect a chemical or even a biological attack," said Ian Hawkins, principal of security consultancy Ian Hawkins Associates, "move away from the source as fast as possible. Try and cover any exposed skin with whatever clothing you have available. Cover your mouth with a handkerchief that's been soaked in water, take shallow breaths and then seek medical attention."
