Who'd want to be a contractor?
I'm off on holiday for a couple of weeks so this blog will be temporarily out of action - unless you're desperate for news on the construction industry in Mauritius. I'm wondering what more can go wrong at Wembley while I'm away. I've been thinking of some potential future developments at the disaster-prone site - "Wembley bird flu link?" or "Elvis spotted at Wembley" are headlines I thought would be potentials. You never know. Has anyone else got any crazy predictions for upcoming travails in north London?
A final note recommending the on contractor Curzon in our sister magazine Ðǿմ«Ã½ today alluded to firm's travails in last week's missive but the Ðǿմ«Ã½ investigation unearths quite a tale of how tough it can be to run a contracting firm. Problem jobs, fraught negotiations with banks and bondsmen, cashflow problems, low margins etc etc. I often wonder with such hassle experienced by many why anyone would want to be a contractor. Can anyone enlighten me as to the upsides of being a builder?
