A major 20-week remedial programme to refurbish the external curtainwall façade of the Atrium in Uxbridge has been completed by Structura UK Ltd as part of a £5.3m upgrade and modernisation of the striking six-storey building.
Working closely with Cladtech Associates, the cladding consultants, Structura restored and cleaned the anodised aluminium panels and replaced external gaskets and areas of glazing where necessary.
Structura supplied and installed new main entrance screens and doors, incorporating automatic, all-glass, DDA compliant sliding door sets. Existing manual swing doors were removed and part of the main entrance was reconfigured. Bronze-tinted glass screens were replaced with clear glass. Structura also supplied decorative, sandblasted, toughened glass screens to the building's reception area.
The main contractor was Parkeray Ltd and the architect was Sturgis Associates LLP.
