An attempted armed robbery at a Manchester branch of Barclays Bank has been foiled using the Smokecloak from Martin Security Smoke – and it’s the second time it has happened this year.

Two criminals brandishing a shotgun and a sledgehammer dropped their weapons and fled from the bank’s Culcheth branch when a member of staff activated the system and filled the room with thick artificial smoke. One unsuccessfully attempted to smash the bank’s reinforced security screen, while the other threatened to shoot members of staff. Smokecloak’s thick, glycol-based harmless fog filled the room in less than 20 seconds, confusing the assailants, who panicked and ran.
