ARC DE TRIOMPHE: Sunderland Arc – the city's year-old urban regeneration company – has unveiled ambitious plans for a £1.3bn regeneration of the city centre, including this design for houses, retail and office space on the Vaux Brewery site. Arc's 15-year strategy involves plans for up to 3350 houses, all of which will be for private sale. Arc's deputy chief executive Jonathan Bretherton said Sunderland already had ample affordable housing. Architect for the Vaux development is CZWG.
