ChandlerKBS addition

ChandlerKBS has appointed Derek Russell to head its new special projects team based in the head office in Cardiff.

Previously a partner at EC Harris, he has been recruited to provide specialist consultancy advice on strategy, funding and management of complex multi sector projects.

RICS confirms Tuffin

RICS' governing council has elected David Tuffin senior vice president with confirmation that he will be elected president in July 2007. A joint senior partner at Tuffin Ferraby Taylor, where he has worked since 1973, Tuffin will bring his expertise in witness services in the field of professional negligence litigation and building pathology to the role.

Anser appoints two

Anser Project Managers has hired two assistant PMs in London. Paul Bosch has worked on engineering schemes in the UK and Africa and will work with Anser's public sector clients. Jamie Rickard, who has a background in civil engineering, joins one of the teams working on commercial schemes.

T&T takes on director

Cedric Houghton-Brown has been appointed director of development monitoring in Turner & Townsend's project management division.

His brief is to enhance the firm's development monitoring service across all sectors in the UK and Europe. Houghton-Brown has over eight years project and fund monitoring experience at Gardiner & Theobald.

F+G hires Chappell

Peter Chappell joins Faithful+Gould as managing surveyor of its Nottingham office. For the past eight years Chappell has been seconded to Network Rail in York, where he provided project management and quantity surveying support to the in-house infrastructure team. Prior to that he was in F+G's York office. Chappell will form part of the F+G team which is providing cost management services to Tesco's store building and refurbishment programme.

Ritchie rejoins Bucknall

Bucknall Austin has hired a key EC Harris partner to boost its northern operations. Andy Ritchie, who rejoins Bucknall Austin after starting his career there, has been appointed director and is charged with growing the firm's operations in its Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool, Preston and Sellafield offices.

At EC Harris he was the partner responsible for its public sector business in the North West.

DBK drafts in Dean

Birmingham consultant DBK Back has hired Stuart Dean, formerly of local rival Francis Graves. He will become the tenth director of DBK, which saw a management buyout last August. Dean has been asked to bring in business in the firm's core sectors: residential, industrial, leisure and offices.
