Amec adds Paxton
Amec has appointed Steve Paxton as business stream director for transportation in its design and project services division.
Paxton will be in charge of developing business opportunities in transport infrastructure for the project management firm.
He will also expand the company's programme management capability in the built environment.
Before joining Amec Paxton worked at the Strategic Rail Authority as director of programme management. He has also worked for Alstom Transport and BAE Systems.
Surgo rehires senior QS
Stuart McPhail has rejoined Newcastle-based Surgo Construction after a number of years working for other firms in the regional construction market.
McPhail returns as a senior to become the seventh member of the QS team.
French joins EC Harris
Steve French has joined EC Harris at its Midlands-based lenders and investment team, to focus on property lending banks and the project finance market.
He moves from the Public Private Finance Consultancy department in London where he was a senior technical risk manager.
French has experience with PFI, PPP and commercial schemes. His main roles at EC Harris will be giving advice to funders so they can control risk on their projects.
Carpenter moves to CE
Constructing Excellence has announced the appointment of Andrew Carpenter as business development director.
He moves from his position as commercial and project director at Forticrete, part of the Ibstock Group. He joined Forticrete in 1988 and worked for the company for 18 years.
Carpenter started working for Constructing Excellence in 1999 on a voluntary basis, developing the Bristol club. He joined the board in 2003 becoming the national chair of clubs working group.
PM moves to DBK Back
Kristian Slater has been made project manager at building consultancy DBK Back. Slater previously worked for Laser Build, where he was involved in the commercial property sector.
