International security solutions specialist Group 4 Securicor has appointed Rob Gurner as investor relations manager. In this new role, Rob will report directly to Debbie McGrath (director of communications) and will take charge of driving the company's investor relations strategy. He has vast experience of equity markets and the support services sector.

Honeywell has announced the appointment of Andrew Bull as UK sales director for Honeywell Video Systems (part of the Honeywell Systems Group). Based at the company's Runcorn office, Andrew will be responsible for UK video product sales, working closely with consultants, specifiers and end users. Heading up a six-person sales team, Andrew reports directly to Joe Janick (sales director for the Honeywell Systems Group in the EMEA).

Anthony Henry has been appointed by Octavian Security as the firm's new business development manager. In this new role, Anthony will be responsible for developing Octavian's UK security guarding business. Concentration will be focused on companies in the logistics, distribution and warehousing and retail sectors, which form part of Octavian's growth plans in 2006. Anthony joins from Chubb.

Access security specialist Bewator has recently appointed several new members of staff. Tony Sinden joins as area sales manager for Scotland and Northern Ireland, and will market the company's entire range of access, video, intruder and fire systems to end users. Meantime, James Craig, Ross Wilks and Sadie Weller form the company's new telemarketing team. The team has been established to support the work Bewator is carrying out with its partners, raising awareness among end users of security solutions available to them.

Axis Communications - one of the leading IP surveillance companies - has made some changes to its UK team in order to meet an ever-increasing demand for network video solutions. The existing managing director of Axis Communications (UK), Dominic Bruning, will assume the newly-created position of marketing director EMEA. Steve Gorski - previously country manager of Axis Communications in the Benelux region - takes over Bruning's former post. Bruning will now create and drive through a new European marketing plan.

CCTV manufacturer Merit Li-Lin has promoted Laura Stanway to Midlands area internal account support for both new and existing customers. In addition, Lisa Barker takes on the role of sales administrator (responsible for sales support, order processing and general office management).

Cliff Wilson has been recruited as national sales manager for the fire division at Gardiner Security, the only high service level distributor in the security sector boasting a dedicated fire team. Cliff is already well-known in the fire sector, having previously served as key accounts manager at Fulleon. Prior to that, Cliff managed corporate and national accounts for RS Components. At Gardiner he succeeds David Hynds, who becomes commercial director.

Hi-Sec International has appointed Jasper Bjergard Arildslund as product developer working on the ThorGuard management team. Arildslund is a database specialist, with vast experience in client/server solutions SQL, XML, HTML, OOA&D and C++.

Unshielded twisted pair (UTP) transmission specialist Network Video Technologies (NVT) has appointed Anne Howker as European sales executive. Anne's role will see her supporting NVT's European distributor network in order to further promote the company's comprehensive range of UTP video transmission equipment.

Quest - the London-based security and intelligence specialist - has announced the appointment of Gavin Proudley to its team of expert advisors. Gavin will be joining a team of leading security industry figures including Lord Stevens of Kirkwhelpington and Brigadier Dick Andrews. Prior to joining Quest, Gavin worked in the Civil Service for ten years (most recently in the Cabinet Office, where he served as a member of the counter-terrorism team). Gavin has also spent time working with contractors in Baghdad.

MEL Secure Systems - the leading developer of CCTV surveillance solutions - has appointed Adam Welton as technical sales manager. Based at the company's Coventry head office, Adam (who joins from Andover Controls) will be responsible for developing new and existing accounts as well as supporting the forthcoming introduction of a new range of products and technologies.
