Capita鈥檚 new sports director
Capita Symonds鈥 sport and leisure consultancy has appointed Duncan Wood-Allum as director of its London operation, which is bidding for the job of programme manager for the 2012 Olympics.
Wood-Allum will spearhead the consultancy鈥檚 plans for growth in the sport, leisure and cultural sectors. He has over 15 years experience in procurement, leisure strategies and performance management.
Previously an account director at Capita Consulting, part of the Capita Group, he was part of the team that won the 2005 Management Consultancies Association (MCA) Gold Award for Change Management. He has directed projects for Sport England, London 2012 Steering Group, the London Borough of Lewisham, Best Western Hotels and 4Ps.
Wood-Allum said: 鈥淟ooking ahead, the team is developing innovative ways of addressing leisure stock issues, developing high quality facilities and enabling collaborative partnerships with the public, private and trust sectors 鈥 not to mention further extending our involvement in the Olympics.鈥
Whitfield back at Stapleton
Jeff Whitfield rejoins Stapleton International as an executive director after a five-year absence. In the interim he was director of expert services for Hill International UK.
Jeff has experience of international consulting and testifying as an expert witness in the Middle East, Far East and Europe. Whitfield said: 鈥淚 enjoy working on the biggest projects at home and abroad and that will not change. 鈥
CIC role for Hornagold
Stan Hornagold, senior partner of independent management consultancy Hornagold & Hills, has been appointed as chairman of the Lifelong Learning Committee, on the Construction Industry Council鈥檚 executive board.
The CIC is the representative forum for professional bodies and research organisations in the construction industry. The LLC advises it on education, training & CPD and occupational standards panels.
Hornagold said he will be addressing the industry鈥檚 skills shortage.
Hill takes on Foxcroft
Former MDA director Bob Foxcroft has joined project management and QS firm Hill International.
He will work as a consultant with Eric Butterworth, who joined the company at the start of the year from MPM Capital to head up a new project management division.
