Jets Electrical Contractors has transformed a 1920s coachworks into a 3500 m² art gallery. The Louise T Blouin Institute in Olaf Street, West London provides a showcase for both established and emerging contemporary artists and performance art, as well as being the operating base for the Louise Blouin Foundation.

Instant and dramatic impact is provided by the façade, which has a spectacular artwork in lighting commissioned from the widely acclaimed artist James Turrell.

Pyrotenax cables, from Tyco Thermal Controls, have been installed throughout the £20 million conversion. The MICC cable can carry current and data.

Designer Arup specified the use of MICC cable for the emergency lighting and other critical fire-rated circuits. Pyrotenax MI can operate at temperatures up to 1083°C and provided a reliable solution.

For all general wiring, the company chose Pyrotenax’s Multi-Plus LSF lightweight pre-wired conduit, which offered the installer significant time, space and cost savings.
