The six decades separating these two employees, 16-year-old Rossi Ogilvie and John Sweeney, 75, are proof that age is no barrier to working for Total Glass.
John, a sprightly 75 and a joiner by trade, joined the Merseyside-based company seven years ago as a cleaner before being promoted to chargehand looking after the stores. ‘Working full-time keeps me active, gives me energy and I enjoy every aspect of it,’ he says. Young Rossi is the son of David Ogilvie, Total’s Production Manager, and is training to be a fabricator. He is one of more than 100 trainees to have benefited from the established Total Training School’s dedicated four-week scheme.
