The modern HGV glass carrying body has changed over the last five years and is safer and much more versatile than its predecessors.

Glass carrying bodies have always been produced purpose-made in small numbers to customers’ requirements.

Modern vehicles need to be able to accommodate glass pallets, and transport stock and cut glass of various sizes.

Glass carriers are now adaptable with detachable internal racking. Opening roof systems have also moved with the times, Supertrucks now produce 100% fully opening roofs giving total unrestricted crane loading access.

For external rack systems, the Supertrucks System 3 security poles and forward pack stops secure external glass loads and external rack safety curtains ensure that the glass arrives clean, dry and safe to handle.

Supertrucks have worked extensively with the GGF to improve safety. All racks are are now fitted with inclinometers, signalling to the loader whether the vehicle is on level ground, or not.
