Have you got mobile access towers on site? And if so, have they been safely erected? The Work at Height Regulations 2005 prompted access suppliers and manufacturers, along with the HSE, to develop two new ways to erect access towers safely.
The first involves using an advanced guard rail, a temporary rail which is locked in place from the level below. The second is known as through-the-trap or 3T (left). The user accesses the next level up through a trapdoor and sits down while he attaches the guardrails.
3T towers can be hired from Hewden, which claims to be the first hirer to provide 3T towers countrywide, having placed a £1m order with specialist supplier Youngman.
