Southwest based Clearwood UK has achieved a C rated timber window with the BFRC.  The performance of -12 kWh/m2/yr is the highest achieved for a C rating so far.

‘We have now achieved C, D and E ratings with our bulk standard window', Jay Pengelly, Head of Technical Sales for Clearwood UK, told Glass Age. ‘The only difference between them is the glazing.'

The double glazed unit used to achieve a C rating was Argon gas filled in a 4-20-4 configuration, incorporating Saint Gobain Futur N and Edgetech's Super Spacer. Clearwood UK also holds ISO 14001: 2004 environmental management and ISO 9000 quality assurance standards.

‘We really try to put everything we can into the specification of our windows', adds Mr Pengelly. ‘Performance in terms of sustainability and carbon emissions is a critical factor in demand from all quarters now and this shows our dedication to stay ahead of the pack in product development'.
